Before the tipoff of its SEC home opener Saturday against No. 21 Missouri, the Auburn men's basketball team was already down a man.
Head coach Tony Barbee announced the indefinite suspension of forward Chris Griffin prior to Saturday's game due to a violation of school policy.
"Right now I am more interested in Chris the man than Chris the basketball player," Barbee said in a press release.
Barbee gave no timetable for the junior's return.
Griffin, a 6-foot-7 forward from Tallahassee, Fla., was averaging 5.7 points per game and four rebounds prior to his suspension. He missed five games earlier this season with a personal leave of absence.
