Auburn senior DJ Smith is the 2015 SEC Champion in high jump after clearing a jump of 7-3.25/2.22m on Friday afternoon.
Smith, who finished runner-up at last year’s SEC Championship, became the first Auburn SEC Champion in high jump since Donald Thomas took the event in 2007.
Smith topped Justin Fondren of Alabama and Ken LeGassey of Arkansas. Teammate Shawn Johnson placed fourth in the competition.
This is the second career championship for Smith, who won Outdoor Track and Field Championship in 2013.
