​Equestrian defeated by second-ranked South Carolina

The number four Tigers fell to South Carolina 11-7 Saturday afternoon, Feb. 28 at One Wood Farm in Blythewood.

Although the Tigers left defeated, a number of records were made in the competition. In Equitation Over Fences, junior Elizabeth Benson continued her winning streak, 9-0, which makes 33 career wins. She ties Maggie McAlery’s record as the second-ranked in this event ever in the program.

Jacqueline Shilen made her first career appearance, defeating the Gamecocks in Fences in a close one, 70-69.

Katsey Leeman additionally earned MOP honors in reining.

Auburn is now 4-5 overall with 1-4 in the SEC and will face Baylor at home March 7 at 1 pm.
