The City of Auburn’s 34th Annual Easter Egg Hunt will take place Saturday, April 4, at 10 a.m. at Kiesel Park.

“The event really showcases and highlights Kiesel Park, which is a very popular park for our citizens,” said Allison Hall, community and special programs director for the Auburn parks and recreation department. “It is over 100 acres and a beautiful gem in our city.”

Wells Fargo, which is sponsoring the event, is assisting in providing refreshments for the attendees of the egg hunt as well as having a band to play after the event so families can stay and picnic, according to Becky Richardson, director of the Parks and Recreation department.

“I think that everybody loves an egg hunt,” Hall said. “It brings back fond memories of childhood and the joy in everyone.”

The event is offered for children under the ages of 12, where they will be hunting for 35,000 Easter eggs, including 300-500 prize eggs.

“We also have prize eggs,” Hall said. “The children can open the egg and find a prize slip, then receive that prize at the prize table for bigger prizes that will not fit in the eggs.”

The actual event will be taking place in four groupings depending on the ages of the children. Parents are also welcomed to come out and support their children, but may not participate.

There will also be an Easter bunny in attendance to take pictures with the children.

The first egg hunt will begin at 10:30 and is for children under the age of 3. Ages 4-6 begins at 10:45, ages 7-9 at 11:00, and the final age grouping of children ages 10-12 will start at 11:15, according to the Parks and Recreation Department.
