​No. 4 Auburn men’s golf finishes tied for fifth at the Hootie

The No. 4 Auburn men’s golf team tied for fifth at 8-under on Tuesday, March 31, at the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate in Awendaw, South Carolina.

No. 7 South Carolina won, shooting 25-under, followed by No. 25 New Mexico at 14-under, Georgia Regents University-Augusta at 12-under and Virginia at 11-under.

All-SEC sophomore Matt Gilchrest led Auburn individually, shooting 3-under, tying him for 17th.

Freshman Ben Schlottman tied for 22nd at 1-under, senior Dan Stringfellow tied for 29th at even par, junior Michael Johnson tied for 36th at 2-over and sophomore Will Long placed 59th at 9-over.

The Tigers return to action next Monday and Tuesday, April 6-7, at the Gary Koch Invitational at the Gaston Country Club in Gastonia, North Carolina.
