UPDATE 9:34 p.m.: The National Weather Service has canceled the Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Lee County. There is a chance for severe weather on Wednesday, April 1 and Friday, April 3. according to the weather service.
UPDATE 6:04 p.m.: The National Weather Service has extended the Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Lee County until 10 p.m.
The National Weather Service has issued at Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Lee County and much of Central Alabama and Georgia until 7 p.m.
Conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms, which can include hail and possible wind gust of 70 mph, according the weather service.
Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce tornadoes, according to the weather service.
