In Columbia, S.C., the Auburn women’s tennis team lost 4-0 to the Alabama Crimson Tide in the second round of the SEC tournament. The Tigers, who lost 4-0 earlier in the year in Tuscaloosa, Ala., weren’t given the chance to play doubles as the match began with singles and that was all the Tide needed.

Junior Pleun Burgmans lost on court one 6-4 6-4 to Alabama’s Erin Routliffe. On court two, Alabama’s Daniel Spielman defeated Auburn senior Emily Flickenger 6-2 6-0.

Freshman Andie Dikosavljevc lost on court three in a match the included a first set tiebreak. The match ended 7-6 (7-5) 6-4.

The final match, played by sophomore Reka Muller, finished 6-4 6-4 in favor of Alabama’s Natalia Maynetto.

The Tigers’ NCAA tournament is set to begin on May 8. Burgmans and Flickenger are looking to make a strong push in doubles.
