Ollert ends singles career in first round of NCAA Championships

Men's tennis senior Lukas Ollert lost Wednesday, May 20, in the opening round to Tulane’s Domenik Koepfer at the NCAA Championships, bringing Ollert’s outstanding singles career to a close.

Ollert’s first set was a close 7-6 loss, and Koepfner, ranked among the tournament’s top 16 seeds, carried momentum into the second set, winning 6-2. All NCAA action is at Baylor’s Hurd Tennis Center in Waco, Texas.

Ollert and junior Marko Krickovic open doubles on Thursday, May 21, facing John Morrissey and Robert Stineman of Stanford, one of the top eight seeds in the field of 32. Ollert and Krickovic finished as the Southern Region runner-up last fall and posted a 7-1 record in dual match play this spring, where they went 5-1 in the conference.
