The National Collegiate Equestrian Association freshmen Ashton Alexander and Ali Fratessa of the No. 1 Auburn equestrian team Riders of the Month for January on Wednesday.
Alexander, who was competing in her first collegiate meet, and Fratessa led the Tigers to a 15-5 win over No. 3 Baylor on Jan. 30.
Fratessa earned Most Outstanding Player honors by defeating Michelina Carbone, 75.5-66 in Equitation over Fences, and Alexander defeated Savanah Jenkins, 87-68, in Reining.
Auburn travels to No. 2 Georgia on Feb. 13, the second meeting of the season between the top two teams in the country. The Tigers took the first matchup, 11-8, on Nov. 13.
