Softball blasts Western Kentucky 19-1

Another night, another blowout win for the Auburn softball team.

The Tigers scored 19 runs in just three innings to defeat Western Kentucky on Friday night, Feb. 12, and move to 2-0 on the season.

After no-hitting Appalachian State the night before, Auburn only allowed one hit to the Hilltoppers, who committed seven errors in the field to aid the Tigers.

Catcher Carlee Wallace and first baseman Jade Rhodes each had two RBIs, but the Tigers collected seven hits on the night.

Those aforementioned seven errors along with 12 walks kept the scoreboard on its toes.

Pitcher Kaylee Carlson, a sophomore who transferred from North Carolina, made her debut in the circle Friday night and allowed a run-on-one hit, three walks and a pair of strikeouts.

Auburn continues play with a doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 14. The Tigers take on Butler at 12:30 p.m. before capping the day against Furman at 3 p.m.
