Auburn's season ends at NCAA Championship

Auburn Gymnastics narrowly defeats Alabama Gymnastics for the first time in 117 meets.

The Auburn gymnastics team scored a 195.100 to place fifth in the afternoon session of the NCAA Gymnastics Championship in Fort Worth, Texas, ending the Tigers' record-breaking season.

The Tigers started the meet on vault, scoring a 48.9625. Senior Caitlin Atkinson led the team with a 9.825.

Auburn moved to bars, where it scored a 49.0875 and was again led by Atkinson's 9.85.

The Tigers then scored a 48.1495 on beam, led again by Atkinson's 9.8375.

Last was floor, where Auburn scored a 48.900. Senior Lexus Demers led the Tigers with a 9.8625.

Florida, LSU and Georgia advanced to the NCAA Super Six from Auburn's session, and three more teams from the night session will also advance. The Super Six will be held on Saturday night at 8 p.m. and will be televised on ESPNU.
