Best food trucks on campus

Truck Yeah

Food trucks have become a trend over the last few years, and they are making a home for themselves here in Auburn.

A food truck allows for more on-campus dining options without having to build an entirely new building or making another dorm smell like deli meat (looking at you, Lupton Hall).

Auburn has a variety of options in terms of its food trucks, and I have compiled a list of the top 3 on campus.

#3: Burrito del Mar

Similar to Moe’s Southwest Grill or Chipotle, they serve burritos, bowls, tacos and even chips and guac. The customer has the option of chicken, steak, or veggie for their entrees.

It is located next to the Haley Center, and the price of a chicken bowl with a side of chips and guacamole comes out to $13.06.

#2: Smooth N Groove

This machine has been around for the longest out of all the trucks on this list.

It is located right in front of Owen Hall. It serves smoothies, and the truck itself plays groovy tunes. The smoothies are fruity, $5.45, and act as a refreshing snack.

The smoothies are a little sugary, so beware of that. However, everything about the truck is fun — the people, the product and the truck itself.

#1: Caffeine Machine

This place wins. It is one of the newest on campus, and it is a wonderful addition.

The first time I went I was given the Winnie the Pooh, which was a latte with a honey base. It costs $4.85. Because of this, it is less sugary and more natural than a normal latte.

This truck is located right next to the smoothie truck. It’s smaller and less colorful than Smooth N Groove, but it absolutely brightens my day.
