The Auburn offense added another valuable weapon on Thursday afternoon when 4-star running back Devan Barett announced his commitment to the Tiger football team. With his commitment, Auburn now has 13 commitments in the 2017 class.
The 6-foot-1 tailback will be joining tiger true freshman wideout Nate Craig-Meyers on the plains. Craig-Meyers graduated from Tampa Catholic and was expected to be the top wide receiver in the 2016 class.
Barrett rushed for 1,891 yards and 21 scores last season at Tampa Catholic, which earned him offers from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, North Carolina, Miami, Tennessee and others.
The Dade City, Florida native is the third 2017 Tiger commitment from the state of Florida. The 190 pounder will join Calvin Ashley, an offensive lineman out of Orlando, and offensive lineman Nick Brahms, a Navarre native.
