84 student-athletes earn First-Year SEC Academic honors

Auburn had 84 student-athletes from all 17 sports on this year’s First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll list, the conference office announced Thursday.

Equestrian had the most honorees with 11 and the men's track and field team followed with 10.

In order to earn First-Year honors, each student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above at the nominating institution; be on scholarship or a letter winner; have completed 24 semester hours of non-remedial credit at the nominating institution; and have been a member of the varsity team for the sport’s entire NCAA Championship segment.

The SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2015-16 academic calendar.
