Two arrested for fraternity house auto burglary

The Auburn Police Division arrested two men this weekend on related charges.

Police apprehended Jaken Dowdell, 19, on warrants charging him with unlawful breaking and entering of a motor vehicle, 4th degree theft of property and possession of a controlled substance.

In a related case, police arrested Tyrin Giddens, 18, on warrants charging him with unlawful breaking and entering of a motor vehicle and 4th degree theft of property.

The arrests, according to police, were the result of an investigation into a vehicle burglary that occurred July 20 at a fraternity house in the 500 block of West Magnolia Avenue.

Video surveillance and a resulting investigation led to the arrest of Dowdell and Gidden. Another arrest is anticipated in the case.

The men are being held in the Lee County Jail. Dowdell is held on  $7,000 bond, and Giddens on a $4,000 bond.
