Two Auburn men arrested for robbery and burglary

The Auburn Police Division arrested two men on Wednesday, July 20, in connection with two unrelated warrants, according to a division press release.

Police arrested Brandon Williams, 31, from Auburn on a felony warrant charging him with 1st degree robbery, and police also arrested Rodritus Matthews, 19, from Auburn on warrants charging him with 3rd degree burglary and 1st degree property theft.

Williams' arrest was the result of an investigation into a May 5 robbery in the parking lot of a business at in the 200 block of Teague Court. Officers responded and were given a description of the suspect, who held a male at gun point near his vehicle.

The suspect fled on foot with an undetermined amount of cash, and the victim was not injured. Williams was positively identified as the suspect. He is being held in the Lee County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

Matthews was arrested Wednesday in connection with a July 16 burglary at a home in the 1600 block of Pierce Chapel Road. The victim said someone entered their residence when they weren't home and stole more than $1,300 worth of property.

A search of Matthews' residence led to the recovery of the property,

Matthews is also being held at the Lee County Jail on a $4,500 bond.
