A 24-year-old female was found shot to death in the yard of a home on Lunsford Drive in Auburn this morning, according to Opelika-Auburn News.
The victim was identified as Minney Lee, age 24 from Auburn.
She was pronounced dead at the scene by Lee County Deputy Coroner Charlotte Patterson at 4:26 a.m. The body was transported to the Department of Forensic Sciences Medical Examiner Office in Montgomery for a post mortem examination.
Authorities are investigating the death as a homicide.
Police said they received the call at about 4 a.m. this morning that a body was seen in the yard of the home.
Authorities arrived and found the young woman dead of a suspected single gunshot wound to the head. They closed the immediate area for investigation early in the morning.
The Auburn Police Division is investigating the death as a homicide and are being assisted by the DFS State Medical Examiner’s Office and the Lee County Coroner’s Office.
