Three-star tight end John Samuel Shenker, a standout from Colquitt County High in Moultire, Georgia, committed to Auburn Sunday afternoon.
"This morning I told (Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn) I want to be a Tiger," Shenker said. "He was pumped. He's ready for me to come in May and get it going."

Shenker was offered a scholarship last week, the first offer given by new offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey. He took an official visit this weekend before committing to the Tigers. He chose Auburn over offers from Wake Forest, Western Kentucky and Florida Atlantic.
Shenker played his senior season under Rush Propst, who hired Lindsey as his offensive coordinator at Hoover High School in 2007.
"That helped so much," Shenker said. "Coach Lindsey will use me the same way Coach Propst did, sot it really fits me."
The 6-foot-4, 245-pound tight end had 30 receptions for 451 yards and two touchdowns in his senior season. He is Auburn’s second tight end commitment, joining JUCO signee Sal Cannella.
