Two Auburn players named to Senior Bowl rosters

The Reese’s Senior Bowl announced their rosters Wednesday, and Auburn will be represented with two star defensive players.

Montravious Adams and Rudy Ford were named to the South roster along with 18 other SEC players. The SEC will have 22 players in the Senior Bowl, the most for any conference in the country.

Adams played in 52 games in his Auburn career, making 26 consecutive starts for the Tigers. He finished his career with 151 tackles, 21 for a loss. He also recorded 11 sacks to go along with three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and two interceptions. Adams was named second team All-American and second team All-SEC.

Ford also played in 52 games in his four-year Auburn career. The Big Cove, Alabama native finished his career with 275 tackles, 11.5 for a loss. He forced three fumbles, recovered one and had five interceptions in his career. Ford recorded 118 tackles in his junior season, the most for an Auburn player since 2001. He also had eight carries for 79 yards and one touchdown in his career.

The Reese’s Senior Bowl will be held on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017 at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Alabama. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m. CST on the NFL Network.
