Police arrest three on vehicle burglary charges

The Auburn Police Division arrested three people over the weekend on charges related to two vehicle burglaries last Friday.

Police arrested Brandon Tyrell Bell, 19, from Auburn, and two unnamed 17-year-old males, also from Auburn, on Feb. 11, charging them with breaking and entering a motor vehicle and 4th-degree theft of property.

The arrests, police said, resulted from an APD investigation into two reports of vehicle burglaries on Friday that occurred at an apartment complex near the 100 block of Cox Street. The perpetrators entered unlocked vehicles and stole over $200 of property and money.

According to police, Bell and the juveniles were found on video surveillance footage and later identified as the suspects. Police said they broke into a 2011 Ford Expedition and stole the belongings and money.

More charges are possible, police said.

Bell is being held at the Lee County Jail on a $3,500 bond and the juveniles are being detained at the Lee County Youth Development Center awaiting a detention hearing.
