The No.2 Auburn softball team stayed put in this week’s USA Today/NFCA coaches’ poll. Conference foe Florida fell from No. 1 to No. 3 after falling to Maryland, and unbeaten Florida State jumped from No. 3 to No. 1. The top ranked Seminoles are 10-0, and have not faced a ranked opponent this season.
The one loss Tigers went 6-0 over the past week behind the dominance of pitchers Makayla Martin and Kaylee Carlson to improve to 9-1 on the season.
Florida State had 18 first place votes and 776 points. Auburn had 10 first-place votes and 762 points. Oklahoma and Oregon rounded out the top five.
