Auburn freshman Will Holland was named SEC Freshman of the Week following Auburn’s perfect 5-0 week which included a three-game sweep of Florida to open SEC play.
Holland started four games at second base during the week and hit .400 (6-for-15) for the Tigers. The Lawrenceville, Georgia native homered, tripled and scored three runs during the week. He also racked up four RBI in Auburn’s 14-3 victory over Florida Friday night.
Holland was also perfect in the field with 13 assists and was apart of six double plays.
Holland is batting .278 this season in 11 starts. He has four extra-base hits, five runs and nine RBI. He is tied for the team lead in homeruns with two.
Auburn will look to stay hot this week with a non-conference matchup vs. Georgia Tech Tuesday night. First pitch in Atlanta is set for 5 p.m. CST.
