SGA President Jacqueline Keck has appointed junior Samantha Moore as the next SGA chief of staff after the position became vacant last week.
Moore is a junior in public relations and has previously served as a director of media feedback in the executive cabinet. She was also a member of the SGA's Lobby Board and served as the executive secretary of the Student Senate.
"I am so excited for the opportunity to serve as chief of staff this year," Moore told The Plainsman. "I'm grateful to continue serving SGA and the student body with this role, and I am looking forward to working with this team."
Jacob Tofani, who served as chief of staff since February, resigned from his position as the Student Government Association's chief of staff last week. Keck appointed Moore Monday afternoon.
"Our team is excited to have Sam (Moore) as our new Chief of Staff, and we are confident in her ability to fulfill this position well," Keck said.

In an email Tofani sent to the SGA Cabinet, he said he had decided to step down because it would be best for him and for the SGA.
"Finding a balance between my involvement and academics has been a challenge, and the commitment to several organizations has lessened my ability to perform well in each," Tofani said in the email.
Tofani said he will be commissioned as an army officer after graduation and felt it was his responsibility to prioritize his ROTC training.
Keck said last week that she understood his decision, but nonetheless, he would be missed.
"In resigning, Jacob did what was best for him personally and for SGA as a whole," Keck said. "Although it is a loss and we will miss him being Chief of Staff, he will be able to find balanced and better focus on ROTC and his other commitments. I always strive to put people above projects, in this
