The Auburn Police Division arrested Loachapoka resident Wilmer Adailt Lemus Villafuerte, 19, early Tuesday morning on a warrant charging him with second-degree rape, police said.
At approximately 10 p.m. on Monday night, Auburn police responded to a suspicious incident call they received from a residence in the 800 block of Lee Road 394.
The 15-year-old victim was an acquaintance of Villafuerte and was discovered at the residence by her parents, at which point Villafuerte fled.
Officers located Villafuerte nearby the residence and detained him. Detectives from the Police Division obtained an arrest warrant charging him with second-degree rape.
Villafuerte was transported to the Lee County Jail where he remains in custody on a $10,000 bond.
Investigations have determined that Villafuerte had been sexually involved with the victim on prior occasions.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are anticipated.
