Former Auburn golfers survive cut

Auburn alums Matt Gilchrest and Patton Kizzire passed the cut on Friday at the Barbasol Championship. Gilchrest and Kizzire started their second round Friday morning just a few minutes after finishing the last two holes of their first rounds.

"I don't think it effected me much. It was a 20 hole round of golf instead of an 18 today," said Gilchrest.

Gilchrest finished Friday off two-under par; making him four-under going into this weekend. Kizzire finished two-under on Friday, as well. He is headed into the weekend at three-under.

"I have been here once and didn't play the weekend, and I'm pretty excited to see what I can do this weekend," said Kizzire.

Both golfers are excited to get into the weekend and see what kind of numbers they can put up in front of their home crowd.

"I love Auburn, and I have a lot of friends here," Kizzire said. "It is fun to see people I haven't seen in a while.

"I love being here, it feels like home and I am excited about this weekend."

Amateur Trace Crowe ended Friday at eight-over and will not make the cut for the weekend.
