Auburn Police Division has arrested an Auburn man charging him with burglary and theft of property.

Alan Andrew Jacobs, 23, was arrested Saturday after officers responded to a burglary call in the 1200 block of South College Street.

According to the caller, he returned home and discovered someone had broken into his apartment, while his roommate had been inside, police said.

Police said they believe the suspect stole the victim's key fob to a 2017 Lexus IS200, valued at $250. The caller immediately checked the parking deck and observed the suspect activating the door locks with the key fob.

The stolen property has been recovered, police said.

Jacobs was located, taken into custody and transported to the Lee County Jail where he remains in custody on a $6,000 bond.
