A spirit that is not afraid

Tommy Tuberville joins ESPN

Former Auburn head football coach Tommy Tuberville will take on a new role this fall.

ESPN announced Wednesday that Tuberville will serve as a game analyst for the upcoming football season. He will call games each week across ESPN networks.

“Tommy has been a staple in college football for many years, having experienced nearly every situation as a head coach,” ESPN senior coordinating producer Lee Fitting said in a statement.

“We want him to bring that experience to our telecast, informing fans on the dynamics of a head coach’s thought process, not only in a given moment but leading up to and following that moment.”

Tuberville, who considered running for governor of Alabama, most recently coached at Cincinnati, as recently as last year. Tuberville finished 125-85 as the head coach for 10 seasons at Auburn. He also coached at Ole Miss and Texas Tech.
