Morgan Gaston crowned 2017 Miss Homecoming

Auburn University's 2017 Miss Homecoming is Morgan Gaston. Gaston was announced the winning candidate of the top five during half-time of the homecoming game against Mercer.

Gaston, senior in exercise science, was nominated for Miss Homecoming by Kappa Alpha Order, and she is focusing on the integration of international students for her platform.

After a trip to China, where she was welcomed into the culture and treated with care at all times, Morgan Gaston came back to Auburn wanting to do the same for the University’s international students.

Gaston focused her platform on raising awareness for the international students and what resources are available while showing the local students how to welcome them into campus life.

Gaston said she wouldn’t have the platform be what it is without her god. Along with her faith, she is thankful for the support from KA and her sorority, Alpha Gamma Delta.

Gaston said her platform has been done before in past years and has worked when building awareness, but the liaison program will help it move forward. Gaston will have the next year to fulfill her position.
