Auburn picked to finish ninth in SEC

With rumors swirling around the program, Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl has maintained that he is confident in his team this season. The media, on the other hand, is skeptical of the Tigers this season.

Auburn was selected to finish ninth in the SEC, the conference announced Wednesday. Local and national media members voted in the poll.

Kentucky was picked to win the SEC, followed by Florida, Texas A&M and Alabama.

No Auburn players were selected to any preseason all-conference teams.

The Tigers finished 11th in the SEC last season but returns seven of their top nine scorers from last season.

Auburn will open its season with an exhibition game vs. Barry on Nov. 2. The Tigers’ first regular season game will be on Nov. 10 vs. Norfolk State.
