Auburn vet school employee charged with multiple counts of stealing controlled substances

The Auburn Police Division arrested and charged Auburn University employee Caroline Clarke Schroeder, 26, with 20 counts of possession of a controlled substance on Thursday afternoon.

According to school records, Schroeder is a veterinary assistant in the Department of Clinical Sciences at Auburn.  

The arrest comes after several reported thefts of controlled substances in the University’s College of Veterinary Medicine on Wire Road. 

Police said she was identified as a suspect in all of the thefts.

Schroeder turned herself in to police and was transported to the Lee County Dentention Facilty under a $30,000 bond.
