Five men arrested for late-night robbery

Auburn police arrested five men, all from Alexander City, late on Thursday for a robbery committed in the 100 block of East University Drive, according to the Auburn Police Division. 

Gary D. Norris, 25; Jmekio S. Russell, 19; Malik I. Holtzclaw, 18; Rodney D. Carroll, 21, and Da'Jon A. Graham, 19, were charged with first-degree robbery for their alleged connection to the crime.

At about 11 p.m. on Thursday, police received a report of a robbery occurring in the parking lot of a business on East University Drive. 

The victim had arranged to sell his iPhone to an individual via a social media posting. When the parties met up, he was robbed at gunpoint. 

He sustained minor injuries during the robbery.

Police said they saw a vehicle matching the description the victim gave them, and identified the occupants as being responsible for the robbery.

The suspects were arrested and transported to the Lee County Jail where they are being held on a $100,000 bond.
