Kerryon Johnson named to Maxwell Award final watch list

In the midst of a career season, Kerryon Johnson has been named to the Maxwell Award final watch list on Wednesday. The award is given annually to the nation’s most outstanding player in college football.

The junior running back battled injuries early on in the season, even missing games against Clemson and Mercer, but since coming back against Missouri has taken college football by storm. Johnson has rushed for 723 yards in six games and is currently tied with Florida Atlantic’s Devin Singletary for the FBS lead in rushing touchdowns with 14 thus far.

Johnson and the Tigers get a rest this week before heading to College Station to take on Texas A&M Saturday Nov. 4.
