Despite getting blasted in its conference championship by a bitter rival, Auburn still has a chance to turn in a successful 2017 campaign.
The Tigers won two of three against Georgia and Alabama in the last four weeks of the season, and have a chance to down Top 15 undefeated teams by the start of the new year.
According to the oddsmakers in Vegas, No. 7 Auburn opens as a 10-point favorite over 12-0 UCF in the Peach Bowl.
The No. 12 Knights have an opportunity to cap off an incredible season with a win over a Top 10 opponent and send head coach Scott Frost out with a bang. Frost recently accepted the head coaching vacancy at Nebraska. UCF won the AAC Championship over Memphis on Saturday, 62-55 in overtime.
Auburn was selected for the 50th Peach Bowl on Sunday after a 28-7 loss at the hands of now-SEC Champion Georgia. A win would add to Gus Malzahn's second double-digit season on The Plains (2013, 12-2).
UCF will be looking for its first win ever over Auburn in the teams' fourth visit all-time. The Peach Bowl kicks at 11:30 a.m. CT on New Year's Day, broadcast on ESPN.
