Gus Malzahn to remain at Auburn

After discussions with Arkansas about its coaching vacancy, Malzahn has signed a new deal to stay on The Plains.

Auburn’s head coach has signed a new contract with the Tigers after discussing returning to his home state of Arkansas to fill the Razorbacks’ coaching vacancy.

Auburn Undercover was the first to report the news.

The details of Malzahn’s new contract are not known at this time. It is expected that Malzahn will receive a significant raise over his current $4.725 million contract. The new deal is also expected to be of at least five years.

Auburn finished the 2017 season 10-3, with wins over Georgia and Alabama before a disappointing 28-7 loss to Georgia in the SEC Championship. The Tigers will wrap up their season on New Year’s Day in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl vs. UCF.
