City services, facilities affected by Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Martin Luther King Jr. Day will affect some public services and facilities next week, the City of Auburn has announced.

Garbage pickup for the city will be delayed by one day during the week.

Auburn City Hall, the Auburn Public Library and all Parks and Recreation facilities will be closed all day Monday, with the exception of the Frank Brown Recreation Center and the Yarbrough Tennis Center.

Frank Brown will be closed throughout the day but will open for scheduled practices and recreational games Monday evening. Yarbrough will be open from 8 a.m.–2 p.m., as opposed to its regular Monday hours of 8:30 a.m.–9 p.m.

Auburn's parks, playgrounds and cemeteries will be open sunrise to sunset.

All public safety services, including the police and fire departments, will remain on their regular schedules.
