Auburn offensive line coach Herb Hand headed to Texas

Hand spent the past two seasons on The Plains after holding the same position at Penn State from 2014-15

One of Gus Malzahn's most influential cogs in his wheel of success as a head coach is headed west.

Tigers offensive line coach Herb Hand, who led the unit to a finalist spot for the Joe Moore Award for nation's top O-line, is reportedly taking the co-offensive coordinator and offensive line position on Tom Herman's staff at Texas. College football insider Brett McMurphy broke the news Tuesday afternoon.

Hand spent the past two seasons on The Plains after holding the same position at Penn State from 2014-15. Behind the blocking of Hand's group, Auburn ranked fourth in the conference in rushing this season, touting the SEC's top rusher in Kerryon Johnson, after Kamryn Pettway led the conference in rushing in 2016.

The Plainsman will continue to update this story.
