Honors College will host retired professor to share research opportunities within the college

Lewis Barker, retired professor in psychology and last year’s honor’s faculty of the year, will be featured at the 2018 Honor’s Convocation. In addition to discussing his involvement with the Honor’s College, Barker will be introducing the new neuroscience program to be offered in fall 2018.

Barker will begin with opening remarks about his involvement in the early history of neuroscience research and some observations on educational and life success. The title of his talk is, “Observations on 57 years of academic life: Studying, teaching, and researching psychology and neuroscience.”

Barker will introduce Jeff Katz from the psychology department, and after his talk, he will introduce the other neuroscience faculty to talk briefly about their research and opportunities for Honors undergraduates in research.

The event is welcome to the public and will be held in Student Center Room 2222/2223 on Wednesday, April 11 from 4 to 5 p.m.
