The Plainsman's Choice for Best Weekly Bar Deal: Moe's 50 Cent Beer Night

In 1974, riots famously broke out during the ninth inning of 10 Cent Beer Night at a Cleveland Indians game. The deal ended with nine arrests and an Indians forfeit to the Texas Rangers. Adjusting for inflation, 10 cents in 1974 is equal to 51 cents today.

Fifty cents can get you a beer at Moe’s Original Bar B Que on Wednesday nights, solidifying its place as The Plainsman’s pick for best weekly bar special in 2018.

Be sure to get to the downtown Auburn location early on Wednesdays as supplies are limited, and the deal only lasts until 9 p.m. As with any deal, there’s a catch. Your only options with two quarters are Natural Light and Busch Light.

It may only be Natty and Busch, but it’s also only 50 cents. For fans of ultra-cheap, canned beers, take a few bucks to the East Magnolia Avenue bar-staurant on Wednesday and get your midweek night or riot started.

The Plainsman does not endorse the excessive drinking of alcohol or historic brawls.
