Toro Sushi replaced API Trading Company for the summer semester at Auburn University.

Toro Sushi is back.

Taking the place of API Trading Co., Toro Sushi will be run by the well-known sushi chef, Chris Lin.

“We had [Toro Sushi] in there last summer,” said Glenn Loughridge, director of Tiger Dining. “Chris has been with us for quite some time. He’s been a great partner, and we were able to transition him over to Aramark when they came in.”

Toro Sushi will only be in the Student Center for the summer. Once all of the Camp War Eagle sessions have been finished, the Student Center location will be closed to make room for Wicked Eats, the Cat Cora inspired restaurant.

During the fall semester, students can find Toro Sushi in The Village.

“He does a great job,” Loughridge said. “The sushi is always fresh — they roll it right there. One of the things I love about him is he learns your order so quick. You go a couple times, and then they remember you.”

Toro Sushi is open now Monday-Friday from 10:30 a.m.- 3 p.m.

“We felt like that was a great thing we could do to provide some continuity and some familiar faces for students,” Loughridge said.

Toro Sushi offers freshly rolled sushi, poke bowls, fried Tiger Tail sushi, orange chicken, sesame chicken, teriyaki beef and chicken fried rice, lo mein and chicken wings.
