The city of Auburn, Auburn City Schools and local businesses and industries will host a job fair Tuesday, June 19, from 3-8 p.m. The job fair will be held in Auburn Junior High School in the gym at 405 S. Dean Road.

The city of Auburn is partnering with various local business, industries and schools to assist those recently displaced after the closure of the MasterBrand Cabinets plant Tuesday.

Tuesday, MasterBrand Cabinets informed Auburn plant employees and the city of Auburn that the company was permanently closing its operations in the Auburn Industrial Park that same day.

Once the city was informed, Auburn’s Workforce Development Division immediately began reaching out to industries and businesses throughout Auburn to help find positions for the more than 400 individuals affected by the closure.

“It’s great to see the entire community coming together in this critical time for those who lost their jobs this week,” said Cary Cox, the City of Auburn’s workforce development director. “We have had great interest from local businesses and industries as well as companies outside of our region, and we’re anticipating an excellent turnout for this event.”

Community members planning to attend the job fair should be prepared to fill out job applications and interview for available positions.

Companies that are interested in participating in the job fair should contact the city of Auburn’s Workforce Development Division at (334) 501-7300 or webecondev@auburnalabama.org.
