Auburn basketball is keeping it in the family.
Tigers assistant coach Wes Flanigan's son, Allen, has committed to Auburn, the four-star Arkansas prospect announced via Twitter on Monday morning.
"First off, I want to thank God, my parents, grandparents, family, teammates and coaches for making me into the player and man that I am today," Flanigan wrote. Thanks to all of the coaches who have recruited me! Special thanks to Coach (Bruce) Pearl for giving me the opportunity! With all that being said, I am excited to announce that I am committing to Auburn University #WAR EAGLE!"
As a junior forward at Parkview High School in Little Rock, Arkansas, Flanigan played under his grandfather, Alfred. The 6-foot-5 wing presence is rated as the top player in the state and No. 30 in the nation at his position by ESPN.
Wes Flanigan was hired by Bruce Pearl in the offseason. As a Tiger, Flanigan led the SEC in assists (214) in 1996. He finished second in program history with 573 assists and fourth in free throws with 338.
Proud day for the family son! I am so happy for you and excited about your future with hard work and perseverance anything is possible! Trust God’s will because he always has a plan! War Damn Eagle https://t.co/Q6Kg7gBqBX
