Great article! A small note that my last name is spelled "Crane." I'm happy to be part of this scene. Here'a a blog post I wrote on seeing a bunch of these bands all in one night: http://jasoncrane.org/2012/11/17/auburn-diary-one-night-four-bands/ Thanks! Jason Crane http://jasoncrane.org

"death came to all men": not animals. I think the intent of Romans 5:12 is for God's children, humans, not his soulless creations, animals. It is entirely plausible that the entire process of evolution could have occurred before the creation of a spirit-infused Man. Trygve Lund Junior, Chemical Engineering

Obama is not a Socialist. Obama is not a Communist. Obama is a Liberal Democrat, and he actually considered quite a centrist by most political analysts in comparison to other presidents. The Founders of this nation were all liberals. The conservatives of the time period actually wanted the U.S. to remain under England's plow. I saying this to irritate anyone. This is simply historical fact, to put things into perspective. The middle-eastern Al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups would not be considered liberal, but they would be considered conservative: they believe in the sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman, and they believe that their religion should be reflected and enforced by law. I am not saying this to irritate anyone. I am not saying this to promote one side over the other. I am saying this to ask you to think about what you believe whatever it is and question why you believe it. If your beliefs are solid they should be rooted in reasoning and logic. No American should ever express hate against another American for who they are or what they believe. That's not why soldiers have given the ultimate sacrifice in the name of an idea that is truly American. We have a responsibility to show each other respect and discuss the issues with true class and logical thought. Better men than you have died defending this privilege.

The whole LSU team is a farce. I think they hired Chizik becaue he agreed to look the other way. Why else would they hire a losing coach from Iowa. What a total joke. That championship is worthless in my eyes. Chizik got paid well for it though. What, 20 million and a book deal. He'll probably write a "tell all" now and make even more. I hope the alumni thought it was worth it.

Tree By Tree We huddled, warm, and dense and fair The night beneath the Toomers air And whence the flames did flicker on Summoned glory of fair Auburn's dawn. As splintered branch from leaf to root Fell downward, scorching, specked in soot An Auburn man I scance recall Yelled "Tree by tree protect them all! Come Auburn men and women fair And huddle neath the Toomers air! And fight once more for Auburn high! And 'Tree By Tree' will be our cry!"

Perhaps they SHOULD build some indestructible trees. To fund this, they could cut down the current trees and make toilet paper holders out of the wood and sell them for $50.00 each. That way Auburn fans could "Roll" Toomers trees every day. How appropriate.

BTW I am NOT an Arkansas fan! I am a Bama fan, so I understand the love and depth of how deep Alabama Football traditions run. (and I cheer for Auburn when they play- well until the Iron Bowl. Ha-Ha) I also wanna say I was deeply sicken by the poisoning of the trees and I donated money to the trees fund last year. I hope enough of you like my suggestion for the silver trees(or maybe some type of trees statues)and make it happen, because I believe it would serve the overall purpose and allow you all to still enjoy and proceed with your rolling tradition.

I visited a museum last year in Arkansas called Crystal Bridges and right at the front entrance of it is a huge beautiful silver tree: http://www.lanceturner.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/crystal-bridges-grounds-tree-copy.jpg I said to my Auburn fan BF, Why doesn't Auburn build a couple trees like this one so noone can ever damage them again or take away the rolling tradition?
