It’s also illegal to use intimidation and blackmail threats against other students if they showed support for a candidate. The “boys club” didn’t think a woman should be president, and tried to discourage Crooks from running. What she had to deal with is why very few women run for SGA president, and maybe that's why there have only been 2 women presidents in the history of SGA. Campaigns falsifying documents has been going on for years. – that’s why the “boys” knew what to look for. 750 votes were taken away from Crooks because a few students chose to wear campaign shirts after they had been told not to – something a campaign has little control over. Mills’ campaign was also found guilty of campaign violations but was only docked 20 votes. Equal application of justice? Hardly. This election was all about keeping the “boys” in power, and the only way they could do that was to weaken Crooks with the 750 vote deduction. This was proven when she received more than the minimum 40% of the vote Tuesday night before the votes were deducted; their candidate would have lost otherwise. The “boys club” acts as if their campaigns are squeaky clean and everyone knows they aren’t. To really see their arrogance, check out AuGreeksOnTop’s reply to the article Greek Gods of the SGA. And, their true character was shown by their childish behavior at Thursday night call outs. Unfortunately, the real losers of this election are the Auburn student body. This "election" was an embarrassment.

16 - year old school girl raped by 42 men for long 41 days in a country named India . The case got "frozen" for long 16 - years , with the blessings of a corrupt supreme court judge . Now the victim's age is 32 waiting and fighting for justice . All this happened just because one among those 42 men is the DEPUTY CHAIRMAN of Indian Parliament , who chairs the upper house of Indian parliament to legislate laws. After long - 16 years the SUPREME COURT OF INDIA quashed a lower court order and asked for a re-trial of the case . NO MEDIA REPORTS THIS IN INDIA , because of the influence of V V I P . Using this platform we intend to inform the whole world about the CORRUPT INDIAN JUDICIARY. The corrupt political leaders are the "Appointing authority " of Judges , and they choose a "suitable" judge to get a favorable judgement. We humbly use this platform to bring the matter before the international community . For more details just Google " Suryanelli rape case ". This post is aimed to get justice for a poor girl in her fight against the Deputy Chairman of Indian parliament .

I am pretty good friends with both candidates but I would like to point out that Chelsea and her campaign manager admitted to forging invoices, which is a felony if I recall, then violated the rules set forth by the elections board. Many people believed she should have been disqualified. Also, the negative rumors were from both sides and is a shame.

You're very incorrect and sound horrifically biased. Independents such as myself very much care about what happens on our campus. Many don't care to get involved since the campaigns are so over dominated by Greeks and thus non-meaningful that they are seen as a Greek campaign and that their vote won't matter anyways. As an independent I would never claim that the Greek social groups don't care about our campus but they seem to carry a much deeper loyalty to their own organizations rather than the campus and regular student body. Independents, on the other hand, hold no group loyalties such as these and are thus only hold loyalty to Auburn. As such, are the votes and thoughts of the independents (also the majority on campus, though very dis-proportionally represented, due to the aforementioned overt Greek dominance in the SGA) hold more validity and importance than those of Greeks, who are almost guaranteed to vote along organizational alliances, regardless of platforms. This is ridiculous. SGA elections should not be based on your organizational status. You should not be at any advantage because you belong to a Greek organization. SOMETHING needs to be fixed.

There's an aspect here that your story completely misses: students that WANT to run for SGA office or be involved are naturally going to join the Greek system more often than not. It's basically a selection bias. If you're the type of person that gets on campus knowing you want to run for office, you're going to pledge. Independents don't care. There are exceptions to that rule of course. Plenty of great independents run, and plenty win, but they are the exception to the rule rather than the rule. I was an independent on campus and did everything I wanted. I got all the groups and positions I ever wanted with no trouble at all from the Greek system. In fact, Greeks regularly helped me get into groups etc. because they thought I did good work. It's certainly true that it's easier to run as a Greek but during my time at Auburn (I graduated in 2007) two of the four SGA presidents were independent.

It is my understanding that the voting process was pretty shady. Crooks apparently won the first election but had votes dismissed for very, very, very minor reasons. Ballot order was suspect in the run-off. The dirty campaigning, rumors, dirty pool by the "Harrison Hinchmen" was sophomoric, at best. Did the best man win, not hardly. Don't have enough bytes to comment on their call outs behavior. War eagle.

But Harrison please fix what they have done to the spirit point system and get rid of the social media aspect of it altogether. Way to go brother
