To cap off an impressive season, the Auburn men’s swim and dive team traveled to Minneapolis for the NCAA Championships hosted by The University of Minnesota. The men went into the meet ranked fifth nationally and second in the SEC. They finished the meet ranked 10th.

Auburn wrapped up its season in Knoxville, Tennessee in the NCAA Championships. The women placed 30th overall after going into the meet ranked 15th in the nation.

This week the swim and dive team traveled to Texas A&M for the SEC Championships. Auburn men finished in second place and the women finished in seventh. The meet took place from Wednesday to Saturday.

Marcelo Chierighini, a native of Brazil and Auburn swim and dive alumnus (2010-14), qualified for the men's 100m freestyle final at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics with a 48.23 semifinal time on Tuesday. Competing in the second of two heats, Chierighini led at the 50m mark with a 22.59 split - the fastest first half of any semifinalist.

he Tigers wrapped up SEC Championships on Saturday night finishing in second place behind the Florida Gators. Auburn entered the final day having cut the Florida lead to 30 points, but they could not pull any closer than that.

Auburn swimming and diving wrapped up the dual meet season Friday, Jan. 29, by facing off against Florida State and Wisconsin. In total, Auburn was able to win 14 events with key contributions from Maddie Cox, Michael Duderstadt, and Justin Youtsey.
