Well, the Crimson Tide squeaked past yet another opponent last weekend with its  24-20 win over Ole Miss.

Now, part of this is just me taking out the frustrations of Auburn’s disappointing season on our most-hated rival.

Actually, all of it is. But I just don’t think Alabama’s as good as everyone thinks.

Alabama’s a first half team this year.

They run up the score and then somehow survive after halftime, allowing the opponent to nearly come back.

Since their big upset win at Georgia, who by the way was also overrated, the Tide struggled to beat Kentucky and the Rebels.

Against Georgia, Alabama was up 31-0 at halftime and only won the game by 11 points, 41-30.

At Kentucky, Alabama went up 14-0 in the first half and then gave up two touchdowns to the Wildcats in the second half.

Leigh Tiffin’s field goal in the fourth quarter allowed the Tide to escape with a 17-14 win.

Last weekend, ‘Bama was up 24-3 on Ole Miss, only to watch the Rebels climb their way back into the game, as the Tide was outscored 17-0 in the second half and had to rely on a failed fourth down conversion attempt in the closing seconds to preserve a win.

The Tide even struggled to beat Tulane.

And their big win to open the season against Clemson does not look nearly as impressive as it did then, especially now that Clemson is in worse shape than Auburn.

I just can’t see how they will continue to win by basically not playing the second half.

I’m convinced that one or two teams will expose this weakness this year. I really don’t see Alabama going into Baton Rouge and beating LSU this year, and the other team just might be Auburn.

I know. It sounds crazy. Sure, Alabama’s better than Auburn this year. That’s obvious.

But the Iron Bowl is almost always a tight game, no matter how good each team is.

That’s the beauty of the rivalry. Since 2002, the average margin of victory has been just 7.8 points.

By Nov. 29, Auburn should at least have a few of its offensive woes figured out.

Let’s face it: the Tigers can only improve at this point.

And honestly, I hope Alabama does squeak by LSU and is ranked No.1 or No. 2 at 11-0, with everything to lose when Auburn rolls into Tuscaloosa this year for the 73rd Iron Bowl.

There’s nothing I would love more than to have Auburn ruin Alabama’s season with a late loss, knocking the Tide out of the national championship race.
