Auburn University received the largest donation it has ever had in its 160-year history. John and Rosemary Brown, both graduates of the University, announced their $57 million donation April 17.
The Tiger Transit drivers of Auburn University have voted to unionize in attempt to get more affordable health care, higher wages and respect in the workplace.
Fifty-one Auburn University undergraduate students and six graduate students have achieved a perfect pass rate in the exam for Certification in Hotel Industry Analytics in February. This exam is a part of the Strategic Hospitality Management course offered at Auburn.

Bruce Tatarchuk, professor in the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering, has recently been honored with the SEC’s Auburn University Faculty Achievement Award for 2015.
UPC hosted “Comedy on the Plains,” on Tuesday, April 14, in the Student Activity Center. The guest of honor was Nick Offerman, known for playing Ron Swanson on "Parks and Recreation." Miranda Marty, UPC director of speakers and comedians and senior in political science, said the student body as well as the members of the community responded positively to the announcement of Offerman’s visit. “With the selling out of all of the tickets within like the first 24 hours of the event, I would say that’s a pretty positive response,” Marty said.

Professor Stuart Wentworth was nominated to give the “Final Lecture” to the graduating class of 2015 on April 8. The engineering professor decided to give the lecture on what he called his area of expertise.
The Zeta Xi chapter of Alpha Xi Delta held its “Shine On” event April 2 to raise autism awareness. The event consisted of guitar music and, free pizza and two speakers.
Allen Landers, physics professor in the College of Science and Mathematics, was the 2014 recipient of the Auburn University Award for Excellence in Faculty Outreach. James Hanson, professor and chair of the physics department, nominated Landers for the award. “We look at what professors are supposed to do, and he does it all and does it extremely well,” Hanson said.
