Coming off last year’s 16-6-1 record, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll ranked the Auburn Tigers at No. 12 in its preseason top 25. The Tigers successful 2015 season included their first Sweet 16 appearance to reach the NCAA Tournament for the 13th time since 2000. Following a 2-0 loss to Florida State in the Sweet 16, head coach Karen Hoppa said, "It was a special year.
On Tuesday, July 12, members of the media that attended the 2016 SEC Football Media Days were given a ballot to predict the order of finish in the SEC for the upcoming football season. An all-time high of 331 media members in attendance participated in this year’s vote.

Auburn football landed a big commitment from Austin Troxell Saturday. Troxell is a 6-foot-7, 330 pound offensive tackle from Madison Academy in Madison, Alabama. He is currently rated as the second best player in the state of Alabama by 247Sports Composite.
Rumors have been flying regarding a possible move of Auburn from the SEC West division to the East division.
