August is finally here, and the Plains are becoming packed as students move back to sweet home Auburn.

Football season is just a couple of weeks away, classes are about to begin, and I could not be happier!

I love fall in Auburn. All of my friends are back in town, the anticipation of the first football game of the season is high, and parties are going on everywhere.

Although summer is my favorite season, this town just appears to be a little dead.

After this summer, I am more ready for school to start back than I have ever been before.

It has been an interesting summer for me from working for The Plainsman for the first time, taking classes, making new friends to having a lot of knee problems, which ended with knee surgery.

It is bittersweet to say goodbye to summer, but I am welcoming fall with open arms.

I finally have a full season pass for football this year, so I will be going to all of the home games.

There are many good things to come in the upcoming year.

Besides the personal things about the upcoming year, there is the new Student Center, which is going to be really nice. I am very excited to see it.

The football schedule this year is really good. I am very excited for the Georgia game for one, because my parents are Georgia fans, and I am working on converting them.

Another thing I am looking forward to about football season is that one of my best friends from home will be back in October on leave from serving in Iraq, and he wants to come to an Auburn game.

So as the summer ends and fall arrives, I suggest everyone comes back to the Plains with a clean slate and a lot of spirit.

Welcome back home, and War Eagle!
