The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics has named Auburn’s Jay Jacobs, the longest-tenured AD in the SEC West, as one of its Athletic Director of the Year Award winners. Jacobs, who has been working on the Plains since the 1980s, and as the athletic director since 2004, was nominated by Auburn University President Jay Gogue, and was the only SEC AD to be honored this year.

The Auburn Tigers men’s basketball team is in unfamiliar
territory, one win away from securing a winning record for the season. If the
young squad can finish down the stretch in SEC play, it would be the first time
since 2008-09 that they have done so. And ironically enough, the 2008-09 season
was the last time the Tigers reached any sort of postseason play.

strong start with six personal bests on day one of the 42nd Annual
Frank S Husker Invitational on Friday. Senior Jasmine Manigault led the
way for the Tigers, posting her third PR of the season in the women’s weight

Auburn gymnastics team concluded its busy weekend of travel at the third-annual
Elevate the Stage meet Sunday. The Tigers dropped yet another conference
matchup, this time to No. 5 Alabama by a final score of 195.850-194.675, in the
Legacy Arena at the BJCC.

For the majority of Auburn fans, the past three seasons can
be summed up in one word, disappointment. Since falling short in the national
championship game against Florida State in 2013, the Tigers and Gus Malzahn’s once
high octane offense have declined. Each year brought new expectations,
and one after the other, those expectations weren’t met leading to frustration
and a fan base ready to shut down the “Gus Bus”.
