How to make cinnamon sugar pecans and virgin cranberry cocktails

Thanksgiving is a time to gather the family, remember the many things to be grateful for and eat until you can't bear another bite.

Hosting the most festive holiday get-together can be intimidating, but with the right dishes any party can impress. 

Your guests will love the sweet crunch of cinnamon sugar pecans, washed down with a festive virgin cranberry cocktail.

Thanksgiving day is packed with family activities and long hours in the kitchen preparing the perfect feast. 

Cinnamon sugar pecans 

Ingredients:

1. 1 cup of white sugar

2. 3/4 teaspoon of salt

3. 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

4. 1 egg white

5. 1/2 pound pecan halves

6. 1 tablespoon water

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Grease one baking sheet. 

2. In a mixing bowl whip egg white and water until frothy. In a separate bowl combine sugar, salt and cinnamon. 

3. Add pecans to the egg whites and stir until evenly covered. Next, remove nuts and toss in sugar mixture until evenly coated. Then spread nuts out on the baking sheet.

4. Bake at 250 degrees for one hour. Stir every 15 minutes.

Virgin cranberry cocktails

Ingredients:

1. 1 ounce cranberry juice (sweetened)

2. 1 lime wedge

3. sparkling cider 

4. cranberries (frozen)

5. champagne flute

*Recipe yields one drink.

Directions: 

1. Garnish glass with 3-4 frozen cranberries and one lime wedge (squeeze before adding).

3. Pour one ounce of cranberry juice (1/4th of the glass).

4. Top off the glass with sparkling cider.
